Tel. 0-3874-5216 About the Church Our Lady of Lourdes, Bangsaen, is a Roman Catholic Parish  in the Diocese of Chantha Buri, Thailand. The Church is located in Bangsaen, a beautiful seaside resort near Bangkok. Direction: If one goes along the main road from Bangkok to Pattaya, the Sukhumvit Highway, and then at Km 70 turns right at the traffic light, and goes further along the Long-Haad-Bangsaen Road for only 1.5 km, one will find the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes on the left side, adjacent to Burapha University, opposite to Laemthong Shopping Center. History The small Christian community first established itself in 1967.  A small bungalow along the Bangsaen beach was hired as its center of adoration. In 1968, under the spiritual guidance of the Diocese, a temporary building was set up as a temporary church, near The College of Education (now Burapha University). The building is still used now as a meeting hall. In 1989, Bangsaen Christian Community was established as a parish church, and was named in honor of Our Blessed Virgin Mother, "Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Bangsaen". It covers the city districts of Saen Sook, Nongmon, Angsila, and Huay-Kapi and includes also those whoever have made it the parish of their choice. The secondary purpose of the Community is to serve tourists from Bangkok and all parts of the country who come to participate in the Sunday Eucharist Celebration. Many people come with the special intention to visit their beloved Virgin Mother for personal devotions. In 1997 a new church building was planned, and on 13 February 2000 the building project was started. Consecration and grand opening by Most Rev. Lawrence Tienchai SamarnChit, Bishop of Chanthaburi diocese was on Saturday 15 February 2003. The Diocese entrusted the pastoral care and management of the parish to the Society of Jesus officially on 11 February 2004 on the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes. The parish priest now is Fr.
